At Essex Garden Studios, we specialise in the design and creation of garden rooms for clients with differing budgets and requirements. Here, we explain the process from start to finish when building a high spec garden room on a lower budget.
We were contacted by a client who was looking for a bespoke garden room but had a lower budget. We worked with a client who loved all that bifold doors had to offer, but didn’t like how much they cost. Read on to find out how we put together an Imperial Design which is relatively high spec design to create a functional space that could be enjoyed throughout the differing seasons.
Always keen to innovate, we quickly came up with a more cost-effective solution, utilising UPVC French doors with matching sidelights. This allowed the doors to be fully opened, creating a look that was really similar to bifold doors.
In addition to the stunning glazing, this build also came with some of our popular high spec details such as cedar cladding to the front and left side, and thermowood cladding to the rear and right side elevations. This helped to keep costs to a minimum without compromising on the overall finish.
The high quality PVC double glazed windows and doors had low thresholds for minimal step over while entering the room, making it a really accessible space. A media wall was added as an optional extra, making it a space that can be utilised in a multitude of different ways.
The bespoke garden room dimensions are as follows;
- 3m x 5m (internal)
- 3.376 x 5.376 (external)
- 15 sqm
